Buildings & Grounds Committee


Members  (at least three voting members)

The Buildings and Grounds Committee shall be composed of (a) at least one current member of session, and (b) at least two members from the congregation at large, and (c) the Cleaning custodian who shall serve as an ex-officio member of the committee.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Buildings and Grounds Committee shall maintain the church property including repairs and routine maintenance.  The committee supervises the work of the custodian.  Duties include:

·        General maintenance and upkeep of KMUPC Property.

·        Co-ordinates Spring and Fall clean-up days.

·        Provides for lawn mowing and snow plowing.

·        Makes recommendations to session for repairs, additions or capital improvements to church, manse, pavilion or grounds.

·        Administers insurance coverage for property, liability and workmen’s compensation.

·        Co-ordinates use of facilities to prevent conflicts in scheduling.

·        Works with Presbyterian Women to utilize pavilion for storage during winter months.

·        Co-ordinates with the “Inside Committee”.


The Buildings and Grounds Committee shall meet at least 4 times a year and shall maintain a record of their meetings, which shall be submitted to the session on a regular basis.
