Budget & Finance Committee 


Members  (at least three voting members)

The Budget and Finance Committee shall be composed of (a) at least one current member of session, and (b) at least two members from the congregation at large, and (c) the church financial five chairperson, and the church treasurer who shall all serve as ex-officio members.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Budget & Finance Committee shall supervise the work of the Financial Five and Treasurer.  The committee shall promote good stewardship practices among the congregation and supervise the Treasurer in paying obligations.  The committee also receives and maintains gifts to the church.  Additional responsibilities include:

·        Receiving/compiling bills (treasurer)

·        Paying bills/writing checks (treasurer)

·        Maintain record of giving (Financial Five Chairperson)

·        Receive and record offering (Financial Five)

·        Deposit offering (Financial Five)

·        Maintaining record of Memorial gifts receipts and expenditures.

·        Maintaining of suggested appropriate possible memorials.

·        Acknowledgment of memorial gifts.

·        Communicates the financial position of the church to the congregation regularly.


The Budget and Finance Committee shall meet at least 6 times a year. The Budget & Financial Committee shall maintain a record of their meetings, which shall be submitted to the session on a regular basis.
